Buko Östersund, formerly Road Rental, has used Safe At Site’s Guardian digital monitoring system on several projects this summer. It has proved particularly valuable at roadworks located far from the depot.
“Guardian has proved extremely valuable. On projects farther afield, we have saved many hours of driving every week,” says Pia Eriksson, Depot Manager. “Depending on the distance, that translates into thousands of Swedish kronor in savings. At the same time, we have been able to offer our customers more efficient monitoring.”
Buko Östersund’s home market extends approximately 200 kilometres both north and south of Östersund. Since May, Guardian has been used on four projects. Naturally, the greatest time savings are achieved on projects located farther afield, but the system has also been used on projects within Östersund.
“For one of the projects, the customer wanted continuous monitoring to optimise road safety. With Guardian, we receive an alert directly in the app if anything is not working as it should.”
Pia and her collegues at Buko are already planning further projects using Guardian.
“This autumn, we have a project in Härjedalen where we will use Guardian for digital monitoring. The system performed very well on our projects this summer, and the battery life has been surprisingly long. I believe solutions such as Guardian will become increasingly common at roadworks.”
